This playthrough is made in celebration of Snow's addition to Dissidia Final Fantasy!

After a long wait, this is the fight against Adamantortoise for the Genji Glove (Mission 63). I realized that I didn't show off how to get one early so I made this video before we challenge the final boss. It took a long time to build an efficient strategy and then also to get it on recording.

Weapon: Save the Sacrificial Circle ★
Accessories: Kaiser Knuckles ★ x3

I used a Trainer to hack in Gil and CP to minimize grinding. Hope and Sazh are at Stage 7 Crystarium (Primary) and have their Paper Tiger Weapons equipped. I also taught them Provoke so that they KO as soon as possible.

-- Strategy --

We're gonna need 2 COM's for damage, a SAB for debuffs and Chain-building, a SYN because the fight takes over 5 minutes, a MED, and a SEN. There's no RAV because it just isn't much faster than SAB.

At the start of battle, quickly throw a Librascope and then attack one of the legs with Sovereign Fist. You should have enough time to then quickly switch targets to the head and Attack it to avoid Stomp. If you get hit by the first Stomp, just Retry. When the opposite leg is about to attack, you can jump over it with Sovereign Fist, if you have good timing. You'll sometimes see me prepare a queue and then cancel it just to requeue it again, because it prevents Snow from walking too far away too quickly.

The enemy follows this attack pattern: Stomp x6, Quake, (repeat). With this strategy, you will never see Roar, but if you do see it, switch to SEN immediately, use a Foul Liquid, and then switch to MED; it may kill you with Stomp or Quake if it just got up.

The legs attack one after the other. However, the same leg may attack again after Quake. So be prepared; if you don't have a full ATB Gauge upon Shifting, just target the head and wait to evade Stomp, which happens faster after Quake. I thought I was safe after the first Quake, so I used Sovereign Fist and took some damage. You can see how in this first phase, it's okay to screw up a little bit.

Switch to SEN whenever you see Quake. Enter a queue of Challenges during the first one. You'll need it later. Switch to MED and heal back to high HP.

Once both legs are down, switch to SAB and cast Curse with Auto-hinder. I had to switch to MED to heal because I accidentally got hit by Stomp earlier. Switch to SEN to take the falling damage (or use a Potion if you want, but keep in mind the possible ATB Refresh), and then start debuffing in SAB. Since we don't have RAV, we're aiming to inflict Slow and Curse, and then Daze for Chain bonuses. Once they're all on, queue a string of Daze (which you will also need again later) and keep using it until you get to about 220-230%. Then switch to COM and queue an Attack string starting with Blitz to take full advantage of Daze.

The enemy will get up shortly after and we begin phase 2, the harder part. We need to keep the Chain Gauge on the head alive, while also taking down the legs. It'll Stomp twice, so just Attack to get airborne. Then go for a Sovereign Fist to a leg, Shift to the other COM for the ATB Refresh, and Sovereign Fist again. Then aim at the head and Attack at least 4 times (although you should have 5 or more segments charged when you do), and repeat.

Anytime you see Quake, Attack as many times as you can (you'll be in the air), and then switch to SEN and requeue that Challenge string to keep the Chain Gauge alive. Switch to MED and heal back to high HP, then switch to COM and Attack the head. Switch to SYN and use Haste/Bravery/Protect, and then you'll have time for 1 Sovereign Fist, Attack the head 4 times, and continue the strategy from there.

Once the legs are down, switch to SAB and requeue the Daze string, use SEN to block the fall, switch to SYN and requeue your 3 buffs, and then switch to COM and Attack for the rest of the phase. Ideally, you'll now want the chain to be about 235-240%. You can use Daze and Blitz again if you have space in the Chain Gauge, but do NOT Stagger.

Once the enemy gets up again, Attack for a full Gauge to avoid Stomp, and then Summon. Once down, Attack while Shiva Staggers and boosts the Chain. When Stagger is about to end, try to get in a Scourge and then immediately Gestalt and instantly use Diamond Dust before Stagger runs out.

Once done, switch to SYN and buff one last time, and then switch to SAB, use Daze, then switch to COM and Sovereign Fist. Repeat until the battle is over.

Thank you for watching!
