This playthrough is made in celebration of Snow's addition to Dissidia Final Fantasy!

Here's the fight against Tiamat. Not an easy one, a somewhat RNG-heavy fight, but there's still a surprising variety of reliable strategic setups to use.

Weapon: Save the Power Circle ★
Accessories: Kaiser Knuckles ★ x2, Genji Glove

I used a Trainer to hack in Gil and CP to minimize grinding. Hope and Sazh are at Stage 7 Crystarium (Primary) and have their Paper Tiger Weapons equipped. I also taught them Provoke so that they KO as soon as possible.

-- Strategy --

Like I said before, there are a lot of different setups you can use against Tiamat. But in all of them, you'll need 2 Commando Paradigms for damage, 2 Ravager Paradigms for Chain building, and a Saboteur and Synergist for the 2nd phase.

This fight is essentially 2 phases: aerial and ground. In aerial form, Tiamat has a healing/buffing ability called Overdrive that it seems to use after about a minute (I think). We want to avoid it altogether, so start out with a Summon and build the chain to Stagger, since it won't use Overdrive during Stagger. Pretty easy to do with Snow since he has 2 summons (and Snow also knows Overwhelm).

By the way, if at any point you get Launched by Tail Hammer or Slowed/Dehasted by Ice Grenade, just Retry. If Stiria or Nix gets Slowed, they can Esuna on their own, so you don't need to worry about them. And Tail Hammer can inflict Imperil, but as long as you don't get Launched, you don't have to worry about it thanks to Esuna.

A lot of what I did before Stagger was setting up queues for Repeat which I will eventually need in the 2nd phase (although they're still useful in the 1st phase). Haste and Bravery will be needed later, and so will a Blizzard/Water chain.

Once Staggered, just deal the damage in COM until Stagger runs out, at which point Tiamat will switch to ground mode. You can then execute another queue in COM for Powerchain, and then switch to SAB to apply Slow, and then switch to RAV and build Chain. You won't have buffs in this phase because Tiamat uses those lasers that inflict Dispel.

Once you reach near-Stagger, use Quake and switch to SAB and Daze Tiamat, so that you can switch to SYN and use that little Haste and Bravery queue you used earlier. Switch back to SAB and Stagger with Daze, hopefully inflicting it, and then finish the fight in COM. You can see in the video, it was a bit risky because Daze didn't stick immediately after Stagger like it usually does, so I was luckily able to just run in with COM for the Launch. But you have to be careful with the Dispel lasers, which is why Daze is so helpful in this fight. Depending on what strategy you're using, you can safely just end the fight in COM. In the video, I switched to SAB to use Daze so that Sovereign Fist would deal double damage, which was made useful by the Genji Glove. More on that to come soon...

-- Notes --

Regarding setups, you can use the Power Circle or the Sacrificial Circle. I used the Power Circle because you can see that a lot of the damage can be done in the first Stagger, so I wanted to make use of it. The Sacrificial Circle gives you access to a trickier strategy that is harder to control. You'd be doing the majority of the damage during the second Stagger. You might need to use Quake twice if that's the case. Additionally, you'd have to make sure that you're in critical health before Launching, or Staggering, if you want to be efficient, which you may need.

With both weapons, you can either use Kaiser Knuckles, or replace one with a Genji Glove, if you have it. The Kaiser Knuckles obviously give you a consistent Strength bonus which is useful at all times, while the Genji Glove allows you to do a lot more damage with Smite, Scourge, and Sovereign Fist. If you plan on using Sovereign Fist, you'll want to use the Genji Glove and Daze together for worthwhile damage (as in, damage much greater than 6 Attacks). Of course, you don't need the Genji Glove, Daze, or Sovereign Fist to beat Tiamat. Each strategy takes roughly the same amount of time, and they are all rewarded with 5 Stars. The fastest time I was able to beat Tiamat was in 3 minutes and 43 seconds, using the Genji Glove and Daze with... I think it was the Sacrificial Circle, but it might have been the Power Circle, I can't remember lol.

Thank you for watching!
