Venat walks forward. One of the game's best sections. Elpis sightseeing and FATEs.

"No more shall man have sings to bear him to paradise. Henceforth, he shall walk."
-Venat

---

-Why is it called "The Twelve Wonders"? I was hoping for a sightseeing point to explain, but no luck.

-I'm very happy that Venat isn't a villain.

-I touched on this a bit in the video, but I appreciate that FFXIV took super abstract concepts of despair and hope and used Elpis to ground those concepts in its characters.

-JEEEEEESUS THAT WHOLE SCENE FOLLOWING VENAT ACROSS TIME!!! One of the best scenes in FFXIV. Just... everything about it.

The music!
The tragedy of Venat confronting those willing to sacrifice everything
The heartbreaking parting of Hythlodaeus and Emet-Selch!
The synching of her march forward with Ququshu confronting Emet-Selch!
The gradual blackening as Venat gets more and more wounded by her effort!

-As Hythlodaeus parted from Emet, was he going to join team Hydaelyn?

-I was previously imagining a big ol' kaiju battle between Hydaelyn and Zodiark. Do you think that battle happened still after Venat used her burst of sundering magic and we just didn't see it, or do you think that "fight" didn't really happen and was more just a poetic way of describing her sundering?

I personally think it's the latter.

-My current understanding of the Final Days mechanics is this: the Meteia brought it about by pouring on a despair-tinged flood of dynamis. Summoning Zodiark changed the nature of the world by erecting a shield of aether to block the dynamis. Then when Zodiark died, the shield was gone and the despair dynamis returned. ("At last!")

Is that right, based on where we are in the story so far at least?
