Revisiting this battle now. It's a pretty fun encounter and the animations on the last part are pretty amusing. As is the music.

This one brings up a lot of mechanics back from A6 and brings back the four bosses you fought there too, although they're slightly different. This battle is split into 3 phases and each time you wipe you have to start it from the very beginning.

Phase 1: A battle with the Onslaughter. Rather simple, avoid mega beam which is a line AoE in the direction it is facing. Kill the adds when they spawn, failure to do so within the allowed time and you'll all be given a stack of vulnerability and damage down.

Perpetual Ray is a big tank buster that tanks and healers alike will have to look out for. I believe there is also some tank swapping here as they both tanks were in defense stances even in phase 1.

Discoid will mark four players with tether orbs. The trick is to eat the orbs of other party members who were marked, eating your own will probably kill you so avoid yours. I was never marked to this day so I didn't know it worked that way.

Phase 2: Brawler and Vortexer return to fight you here.

Brawler is the number one priority so take it down first. Stack together if he is doing the double cannon attack, you can tell it's coming since both of his hands will become cannons. I believe single laser works the same as before so it's for the tank to deal with.

Vortexer will be dropping lava AoEs and targeting players with ice rings like before. He also still has super cyclone that will always knock you back so be mindful you don't get knocked back into his AoEs.

After those two are done for Swindler and Blaster take the stage. Typically it's best to kill Blaster first.

Swindler casts Enumeration which will mark a player and put a certain amount of orbs over their head. The number of orbs is equal to the number of players needed in the AoE to prevent big damage.

He will once again give you the height related debuffs. The Purple debuff means you need to go to a low platform and the red debuff means you need to get on an elevated one.

Blaster will continue doing some of his unavoidable moves but also retains his clone move. He'll mark four players and drop four clones at their positions, also doing damage upon spawning. They will then dash off like Ifrit in the direction they are facing.

Phase 3 will introduce you to Brute Justice, the combined form. Do NOT stand in front of the boss since it has many dangerous moves that come from the front. Apocalyptic Ray will cause him to turn around and ready the move, get behind him to avoid it.

Typically most parties tend to stack right behind the boss as we did here. This is because Long Needle requires the party to stack to lessen the damage of it, just be mindful that AoEs will be deployed around the same time often.

Double Rocket Punch is a tank buster, both tanks can soak it up. It hurts though.

Occasionally he will diffuse and break off into multiple bots again. He'll launch a barrage of various attacks, AoEs, mines, rockets and then do the double laser that'll once again require the party to stack. Get away from the center as the Onslaughter will land there and prepare a mega laser while Swindler will once again hit you with the height debuffs. They'll then recombine and resume the fight proper.

Also, yes he can drop his card even on normal mode. I got one today as a matter of fact.
