So, if you're still In The Past by the time you enter Ch 14's Galdin, simply Save and Reload. And now you're young again with your full party. Umbra will tag along with you some places too. Still on version 1.0.

To get the world into daylight again, merely Return to Car, and sleep at a Hotel of sorts. Mine happened to be at Cape Caem. Note, you can't progress into Insomnia anymore, as you neither have God Mode here nor the ability to trigger the cutscene to get yourself into the Crown City. Talcott's trigger no longer exists either.

Towing car does work, putting you directly to Hammerhead post-apocalypse, but there is still no way to trigger the scene. Note, do not Call Car, as this softlocks the game.

If you opted to trigger Talcott, then the cutscenes play per normal (though you'll see your friends running behind the car to Hammerhead). Upon completion, Noct remains young, but his pals are now old. You can proceed to Insomnia in this state.
