Fight Night: Champion Let's Play - There Will Be Blood Exhibition Part 1/4
Roy Jones Jr. vs Sonny Liston
Previously on Fight Night: Champion "Exhibition Mode"...
R-strain, it's been years since you've been in this sort of ring. A lot of things have changed since you've last fought. These guys, nowadays, are stronger, faster, and have a lot more endurance. You knock 'em down, they just keep gettin' back up. That Street Fighter nonsense isn't gonna work, here. There's no FADC, buffering, negative edge, or frame cancelling to save you. Or, maybe, I should say, "to use against you". Don't worry, I'm just bustin' your chops, a little. But if you feel that strongly about getting back in the ring, even if the matches you go into are glorified sparring sets, then I won't stop you. Just don't come back crying if you get your ass handed to you.
The Present (which was two days ago, which makes it the past, now, as I write this)...
Ah, right. You went zero and three in the "Can't Get Right Exhibition". I kinda expected that. You went in cold, and you got your ass handed to you by three different people within the same weight class. But that's in the past now. This is the present. And it's here that you gain retrospect over all the crap that's happen, so you won't let it happen again (I'm feeling like a montage, not really, though). What I want you to do, is hit the gym. Relearn the basics of the sweet science. How to bob and weave. Rush in, then rush out. When to protect yourself, and when to BS your opponent into doing something unsafe, and makin' his ass pay for it when he does. I wan't you to work the heavy bag. Shadow box to experiment with different types of combos. Learn to work your opponent by mixing up high and low attacks to the face and body. Walk around the ring. Get familiar with it. Learn the places that are most beneficial for you to attack in. Winning fights, isn't about knocking the other guy out in the first round. It's about utilizing all the skills you've acquired through years of training and experience that grants you the opportunity to win fights. Once you relearn all this, then you'll become a contender, again.
