I admire the detail put into these early wargame, but the gameplay portion of Fighter Command is inexcusably slow. The game consists 2 parts, 1 part planning and 1 part execution. The first part is full of tabular data which is a tiny bit difficult to track but manageable. The second part is just watching the screen and following as the events unfold. As it can be seen from the video, this is simulated in small increments without any chance of interaction.
Based on its presentation and its style of play, I consider this game dated by the standards of 1983.
