This is our new series of myself (Alphari) attempting to learn how to play fighting games, to a relatively decent standard - starting from a complete noob.

I've always loved fighting games dated way back to SF2 on the snes and Tekken on the PS1. The problem i've always had is the ability has just never been there, I could never ever pull off a hadouken back then and set the arcade modes to Easy and one round in order to jump bomb through them quickly to see the endings.

I never had the stamina to actually stick to them and really, really learn. So that is my challenge. Starting from the bottom, i'm going to document each step of the journey, the difficulty, understanding the language and also testing if skills learnt in one fighting game will transfer into another.

I've got a few fighting games already installed via steam, but I think my first point of call to start at is Ultra Street Fighter 4. Now I know this is an old game, and everyone has moved onto SFV, but I've always wanted to play USF4 more, also it'll be easier to do a direct comparison moving forward to SFV once i get used to 4.

Any tips, comments etc please leave them below and let me know what you think!
