Videogame Intros - Episode #1 Prey
1The first episode in our new series - Awesome Intro's. I know, i know i couldn't think of a better title!
This does exactly what it says on the tin, it's just a quick series of videos showing amazing intro's to games, you may or may not have played. To me, these are hugely important because it's the first part of the game people see, and the game can either sink its claws in deep, or completely fizzle out within the first half hour depending how well the intro is done.
Everyone of my generation will still remember - even now - the introduction to Half life, the famous cable car ride. It was so immersive, it just took a hold of you immediately and wouldnt let go.
These days its harder to get that first OMG impact feel, but some games really go all out and craft some amazing introductions.
The first game, Prey, many may not have played but it is absolutely amazing. And the intro, is among one of the best i have EVER experienced, and i'm a geek so i've played a lot of games.
