Fighting to Survive in Metroid Fusion
Metroid Fusion is one of my absolute favourite games of all time, a perfect blend of exploration and horror, science fiction and mystery, all wrapped up in the trademark ambience and environmental intrigue of the Metroid franchise. Deviating from the series’ formula, Fusion is a far more linear experience than the other Metroid games, which gives it the opportunity to tell a more engaging—and scary!—story than previous entries in the franchise, and in this video I’ll talk about how Fusion’s sense of stripping the player of agency and helping them win it back make for an absolutely unforgettable experience.
