I've gotta fight 3 of these. All 3 fights are the exact same, but I'll show them all just because. 1000 Needles is pretty annoying because it causes both Fog and Pain. Fog makes it so you can't use any magic and pain stops you from using physical attacks. Both Noel and Serah are using White Capes to give me 66% resist to Fog. With my strategy it's mor important to have access to my healing and sab spells.

Start off the fight with double syn. Veil helps prevent status ailments, it's really the only buff i need, however i opt to just get them all. After that I switch to double Sab. Staggering the Gigantuar is pretty annoying, so I opt for poison strats here. Poison is very potent in this game. It's totally worth trying on every enemy you struggle with.
