1To find the Prince of Death, head to Northreach in Sanbreque after picking up the hunt. Make sure you're well-prepared with healing items and buffs. From there, travel north out of the city and then west to Cape Orsiere. You'll find the Prince of Death on a hill.
The Prince of Death is no ordinary enemy; it's a reaper-type foe with some unique tricks up its sleeve. One thing to watch out for is its ability to unleash up to three projectile slashes in quick succession. Don't let your guard down after dodging the first slash, as the Prince of Death can catch you off guard with additional attacks.
When the Prince of Death's health drops below half, it becomes even more dangerous. It will initiate a combo attack that inflicts significant damage if multiple hits connect. To avoid this devastating assault, create distance between yourself and the mark as it prepares for the combo. However, be aware that the Prince of Death covers a considerable area during this sequence, and you may have to execute precise dodges to evade the last few swings.
Defeating the Prince of Death rewards you with 8000 XP, 100 Ability Points, 15000 Gil, 45 Renown, and the valuable Darksteel crafting material.
