I had to do some grinding because running away from encounters just to get killed by Tidal Wave was getting annoying. I was surprised Edge survived it. That made the fight easier. The recommended level for this boss is 70. You can beat it in the 60s. Maybe lower if you bring Yang I don't know. Palom is the best one to give dualcast to. Some people think giving it to the white mages is better but I find that to be overrated. I think killing the enemy faster with double Black Magic is better. I have two characters with White Magic anyway. Or three if you count Edge with Haste and Blink. Also with Dualcast Palom is a one man band. Kain is really OP late game. In my next playthrough I will use the party that I was originally going to use. Palom, Porom, Leonora, Luca and Ursula. Leonora and Ursula were not in the Lunar Whale so I had to use Edge and Kain. Two guys that were in my FF4 GBA party.
