After dropping the mods again I'm able to get through the Junon execution. Afterwards we run around and pick up a bunch of things before getting ready to take on the Wutai Pagoda.

A brief overview of the things changed are:
Random party members, items, materia
True turn based battles with x2 enemy speed and enemy HP
Additional linked slots, more materia pairs, counters add effects
Auto sense, damage limit break with 4th limit breaks, limit command rework
