Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - Will This Game Put Square Enix Back On Track?
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the sequel to the 2020 Final Fantasy 7 Remake and part 2 of the remake trilogy has been confirmed for release in late February on PS5 as a timed exclusive with the PC version coming down the line at some point.
The newest trailer from the September Sony State of Play showcased many locations, characters, and scenes taken directly from the original Final Fantasy 7 released back in 1997 on the original PlayStation. As this game is apart of a separate timeline having been revealed in the first game, it's unknown exactly what liberties Square Enix producers have decided to go with regards to the game's storytelling.
This comes at a time where Square Enix has seen a massive drop in profit with investors starting to question their choices as a company. Can Rebirth put Square Enix back on the map as a major competitor in the RPG space and the gaming industry as a whole?
