From the very beginning, the dev team for ffvii remake was very open about the fact that ff7 remake trilogy wouldnt be a 1:1 remake of the original ff7. In various interviews, tetsuya nomura and kitase never stated that ff7 remake would be a 1:1 remake and always spoke about change.
