After sitting on this game for quite a long time I finally decided to start it up and take a dive into the world of Final Fantasy 7 for the very first time! I’m coming into this game having not played the original 1997 version (which is literally older than me lol) so this will be a completely new experience for me story wise. Gameplay wise this battle system is the only one of its kind I’ve ever played (or seen but I’m sure there’s more like it out there) so it’ll also be a learning experience for me for the combat as well. From what I’ve seen and played so far the combat system has a lot of depth and strategy involved in it, combining real action combat with turn based RPG elements like choosing commands for each character. I can already see myself wanting to get very invested in learning the in’s and outs of it and improving my gameplay as I go on so I hope that throughout this first playthrough im able too (:

With that said this first main boss fight was an absolutely epic and crazy start to the game! As is pretty apparent from my gameplay I don’t really know all too much of what I’m doing and still trying to get use to how combat works, so bare with me here for anyone who may watch this and see this noob gameplay lol. I’m still very much in the souls mentality relying very heavily on dodge rolls but it’s a habit I need to break as dodges don’t have iframes in this game and some attacks are just straight undodgable and need to be blocked to reduce damage. Also could’ve done a lot better with switching characters here too. Cloud kept hinting at me to use the lightning but for whatever reason I just kept on trekking with him haha. But goddamn I was not expecting the first boss to go this hard, this was crazy chaotic and on top of that, the soundtrack to go with it was so hype and intense, making me really excited already to hear what other boss themes sound like. First boss was an extremely strong start to this game and I had a lot of fun with it!
