Bad news everyone, as it looks very unlikely that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake will release in 2017.

It's based on a Square Enix investors document, which listed the Final Fantasy 7 Remake as releasing in "FY 2018 & Beyond", and unlike other titles like Dragon Quest XI and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, there was no release date or release window.

There's still the hope of seeing some Final Fantasy 7 Remake gameplay later in the year though or even a new Final Fantasy 7 Remake trailer, as Nomura has stated it will be shown at one of the major events, like E3 2017, Gamescom 2017 or the 2017 Tokyo Game Show.
