Final Fantasy 7 - Walkthrough - Part 28 - Whirlwind Maze, Waking up in Junon
200:00 - When you're ready to continue the story, continue on from the previous boss battle to find yourself outside again. Climb up to see over the top, into the crater.
01:19 - Follow the linear path down, you can encounter the Gigas enemy here. Make sure you steal the Gigas Armlet which increases your Strength by +30 points from them when you do.
03:30 - In the next screen, head to the left to enter the Whirlwind Maze area. Follow the path to the left and make sure you pick up the Neo Bahamut Materia from the path just before the save point. Continue left to the next screen.
05:20 - In the next area, you will see where the Whirlwind Maze gets it's name. Speak with the cloaked figures to get a Hi-Potion and an Ether. To cross the whirlwind, quickly run when the wind stops for a moment. If you try to cross when the wind is still stong, you will have to fight a Wind Wing enemy. Continue north to the next screen.
06:04 - Follow the winding path north, picking up the Kaiser Knuckle weapon for Tifa from the chest along the way.
07:00 - In the next screen there will be another wind barrier to avoid. This one is a bit more challenging. You have to wait until the wind stops, similar to the previous area, while also dodging the large green bursts that go from the right side of the screen to the left side. Once you get through, continue north to the next screen.
08:00 - For the upcoming boss battle, make sure you set up your party nullify or absorb fire-based attacks. The Fire Armlet, Dragon Armlet and Fire Ring should do the trick. Continue on towards Sephiroth and you will eventually end up in a battle against Jenova-Death.
09:53 - This version of Jenova will attempts to cast Silence on the party. She can attack quickly with Red Light, up three times in one turn, and has a high Magic Defense. All of her attacks are Fire based so if you equipped the right accessories and armor, this should be easy. Hit Jenova with powerful enemy skills, limit breaks and summons to end the battle quickly. She will drop a Reflect Ring.
14:35 - After the battle, you can choose either Red XIII or Barret to keep a hold of the Black
Materia, then speak with Tifa to continue. Head north and pick up the MP Turbo Materia on the ground, continue on to pick up the Poison Ring from the chest beside the save point. Continue north to the next screen.
15:57 - There is one last barrier to travel through. The trick with this one is to make sure you get as close to the barrier as you can before you have to run through. You now need to make sure that the wind has stopped enough, you’re dodging the green waves of energy and now you need to dodge the additional lightning bolts. Again, you will have to fight if you miss it but once you're through continue north once again.
17:00 - There will be a large number of scenes and dialogue to follow so sit back and enjoy meeting the real Sephiroth.
48:10 - After the long series of scenes you will wake up as Tifa, who is in Junon. Talk to Barret, then follow the guards, making use of the Save Point along the way.
