Final Fantasy 7 - Walkthrough - Part 7 - Shinra HQ Continued, World Map
100:00 - The next boss we're going to face is Poison based so equip either Cloud or Barret with the Star Pendant accessory and the other with the Poison-Elemental materia combination placed in their armour on linked slots for defence. Attacking-wise, give Cloud the Fire - All materia combination in a linked slot. When you're ready take the lift up to the next floor and watch the scene, if you have equipped Barret, get Tifa to help Aeris and get ready to fight!
03:10 - This boss is Sample: H0512. It absorbs Poison magic and halves Lightning magic. As the boss is in the back row for most of the battle get Barret to attack and have Cloud and Red XIII use fire magic against it. If the boss manages to poison a team member, use the antidote item to cure them. Keep your HP high and keep hammering away using Limit Breaks to win this one. After the battle, the boss will drop a Talisman accessory.
05:50 - After the battle, choose a party and pick up the Enemy Skill Materia from the sample area. Head up the ramp and pick up the two Potions. Speak with the employee who will give you the Keycard 68. Follow them to the right and pick up two more Potions. Now head downstairs until you reach the 66th floor's elevator where you will bump into Rude and Tseng.
10:45 - You will find yourself in a prison cell with Tifa. If you would like to go on the date with Tifa later on in the game you can keep talking to her and selecting "Leave it to me." as this will boost your relationship. Click on the door and speak with the other team members and select "Let's get some sleep" to continue the story.
15:15 - When you wake up, the cell door will be open. Click on the guard around the corner then open the other cell doors to get your party members out. Choose a party then follow Red XIII into the lift and follow the trail of blood up to the 70th floor.
19:40 - When you get control of Cloud, speak to the party members and head outside to meet Rufus. The team will split up and Cloud will stay behind to fight Rufus. Choose to remove Cloud and Tifa's Materia here as the other party is going to have an upcoming boss battle.
22:40 - Give Aeris the Lightning Materia and Red XIII at least one other magic materia as the next boss is a long-ranged battle. Equip the best armour and accessories and when ready, head towards
the elevator to start the battle.
23:05 - This is probably the toughest boss battle so far so make sure you keep your party well-healed. Have Barret attack Hundred Gunner and Aeris and Red XIII use Bolt and Ice/Fire. Use Limit Breaks when they become available and eventually, the boss will be replaced by Heli Gunner. Keep the same tactics to dispatch both of these enemies. A Mythril Armlet will drop after the battle.
28:00 - It will now switch to Cloud and you will get the chance to remove the materia of the other party members. Equip Cloud with his best weapon and armour and equip the Poison Materia. During the battle, concentrate on Dark Nation, first of all, casting Bio followed by attacks. Then turn your attention to poisoning Rufus and then attacking.
31:05 - Now, let's get out of here, head back downstairs and save the game. Speak with Tifa to progress the story. Head to the main entrance with Aeris' team and Cloud will come up with a plan to escape!.
34:44 - A mini-game will start, first you will get the chance to change the party and set up before the next boss battle. The boss will attack you from the back so move everyone into the back row except Barret for a change. Give someone the Lightning materia, and someone else Ice and equip the fire-elemental combination on a weaker party member's armour in a linked slot. If you haven't been already, Cure-All in a linked slot is also a great combo to heal the whole party in one move. When you're ready, start the mini-game.
36:55 - Playing as Cloud you've got to use the right and left attack buttons to attack the Shinra soldiers that will appear on bikes to stop them from attacking the other party members. You should have no problem with the orange bikers but the red bikers are trickier. At the end of the track, you will have another boss battle to deal with.
39:20 - Motor Ball will start the battle dealing damage to all party members. It's strong against Fire magic so use Bolt and Ice instead. Start the battle by curing everyone and make sure to keep the party's HP above 250. Attack using the suggested magic and Limit Breaks to whittle down the bosses 2600 HP.
44:15 - The team will decide to leave Midgar to chase Sephiroth. When you're ready to leave, head south and select "Let's go". Form a party and move them back to the front row if they don't have a long-ranged weapon. Now onwards to the World Map!
