This is, definitely, one of the hardest bosses in Final Fantasy II Dawn of Souls.

Before fighting this Boss, I suggest you go and grind up your offensive and buff spells to at least level 5. You will need both of those in this battle. At the start of the battle, buff everyone with the defensive buff spells first. To give you an idea of where to start, you should use Blink and Protect first on your entire party (whichever first depends on you. I found Blink to be especially useful after I used in this battle). Also, use Shell and Wall to lessen the damage done by it's spells as well. Although it's spells are particularly powerful, his physical attack is a lot more worrisome until you've casted Blink and Protect successfully on your party. The spell to most worry about from the Ultima Weapon is the Flare spell, which will deal a good amount of damage to a single party member. After buffing up the party with at least a few of the defensive spells, make sure to have a party member heal the party each turn (hopefully you should have Ethers to help keep party members MP in check). Physical attacks will do little to no damage at all to the Ultima Weapon, but spells will do the trick. Flare and Holy are particularly offensive spells you should obtain (from the merchant under the waterfall in the Unknown Cave) and grind up before this battle. Make sure to heal up party members when you need to heal them, and attack the Ultima Weapon when you have the time to do so. With careful planning and patience, you should be able to overcome the Ultima Weapon.
