Final Fantasy II 20th Anniversary Edition PSP Review
28Final Fantasy II 20th Anniversary Edition is a Sony PlayStation Portable Remaster of the original Final Fantasy II「ファイナルファンタジーII」that first appeared on the Famicon in Japan in 1988. Produced by Square-Enix, the 20th Anniversary Edition was released in Japan and America in 2007 and PAL regions in 2008.
Final Fantasy II tells the story of four youth refugees who have survived the destruction of their home town, to be found be a rebellious force that takes them in after their brush with death.
Eschewing the typical experience system of contemporary JRPGs of the time, Final Fantasy II attempts something different in allowing the player to shape the characters based on how a character performs in battle. Whilst innovative at the time, it has met with a lot of backlash and unfairly dubbed the title as the black sheep of the series.
