Part 17/28 in my Final Fantasy II - Advance walkthrough.

We've defeated the enemy and just started to celebrate and it appears the Dark Knight has already started making his move. Our goal is to go to Castle Palamecia and confront Leon. First pay a visit Paul, where Cid is very ill and staying. He says that we can borrow his Airship, before he passes away. Claim his Airship from Poft and land on the top of the Palamecian Castle. The enemies here are largely the same as the Cyclone's, but the Royal Guard has been upgraded to Leon's Black Knights. There's also an Imperial Shadow, which look to be like remnants of the Emperor. He was weak enough the first time round... Stone Golems appear as an upgrade to Wood Golems, I'm pretty sure these can't be Blood Sworded. They're upgraded physically, but Maria's Ultima will take care of them. The M-i-a-B also vary too, some Lamia Queens can be found.

On the throne you'll find Leon who seems to be unable to remember the good inside him. Then.. The Emperor turns up more powerful than ever (well he was pretty weak before). He claims to have obtained a large amount of power from Hell. Ricard can see this and tells everyone to leave on a Wyvern (including Leon). Ricard dies and the Emperor erects a massive structure where Castle Palamecia once stood.

Leon joins the party and decides to help us take down the Emperor once and for all. He's weaker than the rest of the party, it's probably best not to invest magic on him. I just put two Swords on him, he'll do the damage.

I sell a load of stuff and get prepared for the final battle. Get as many Hi-Potions/Ethers e.t.c. as you can.
