Similarly to Final Fantasy III, I had a 3D remake on my Steam account for quite a while, but I waited long enough that I bought the entire Pixel Remaster version and tried it first. For many reasons, I do not regret that choice :) As for the game itself, this is where I feel the series definitely started to grow the beard, not to mention that it introduced some elements that became their staple. I can see why it’s considered one of the greatest video games of all time… Really, if you can buy it? Do not hesitate. As always, sit back, relax and enjoy! Final Fantasy IV, titled Final Fantasy II in its initial North American release, is a 1991 role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Final Fantasy IV has been ported to several other platforms with varying differences. The game was re-titled Final Fantasy II during its initial release outside Japan as the original II and III had not been released outside Japan at the time. All later localizations of Final Fantasy IV, which began to appear after Final Fantasy VII (released worldwide under that title), used the original title. An enhanced port of FFIV was released as part of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster compilation series for iOS, Android and Windows in 2021, and for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2023. All rights belong to their respective owners.
