Final Fantasy IX (Level 1, No items) Ep. 11 - Black Mages and Beatrix 1
11I'm really sorry it's taking me so long in between episodes. I never anticipated what an RNG nightmare this challenge would be. We have another set of Black Mages to fight in Burmecia, and let me tell you they were not cooperating with petrify. After 77 attempts, i decided to just use a No EXP game shark code moving forward with all of these high rng Petrify fights. This should help a lot to get episodes out more quickly.
Next i had to manage to get Quina back to 1 HP, which meant running all the way back to south gate to heal and then using the right equipment set ups to get to 1 hp by attacking her just right. This also took a lot of attempts because the enemies would not cooperate and they'd ruin things for me. But I FINALLY managed to get back to 1 hp.
The fight with Beatrix is rough. There's 2 ways to win. Survive 10 attacks, which for the purpose of this challenge, is not happening. If I had healing options or even phoenix downs, then sure. The other option is to use Limit Glove so she ends the fight after 1 attack, This was our only real option which is unfortunate.
