Final Fantasy IX PS5 - Part 45 - Ending + Review (End of Disc 4)
Trance Kuja: Yes, you can steal from Kuja, but I wouldn't recommend it as there's only one fight remaining and odds are you're not that desperate for the equipment or you already have it. Now's the time to unleash everything you have. For Zidane, with Ultima Weapon + High Level = roughly 5k damage. Steiner's Shock is a constant 9999. Freya's Dragon's Crest another 9999. Amarant's attacks roughly 4-5k. Keep on hitting Kuja while having Dagger/Eiko as a reserve should anything go wrong. Other than that, a pretty easy boss fight for the finale.
After defeating him, watch the cutscenes and soon you'll find yourself preparing for one last battle in the game. Everyone hates this boss, but I actually like it due to the challenge. Even with high levels, this boss can present some major problems to your party. Now for the final battle.
Necron: You can steal, but the only thing he carries are Elixirs, which you shouldn't need at this point. But as for the final boss, this is what I would recommend. Freya for Dragon's Crest, Steiner for Shock, Dagger for healing and Zidane obviously for attack/healing. The big issue Necron can present is Mini. Thankfully Freya's Dragon's Crest ability is immune to it, so it should be consistently dealing 9999 damage at max level. Steiner's Shock, however, isn't. This is why having Dagger on reserves can be helpful. Throw a Remedy on Steiner and he'll be just fine. As for Zidane, if you think your party is going down, keep him in the back to make sure he keeps the others alive. Especially after Grand Cross. Most of the time Necron casts -aga spells, but he will occasionally pull this trick out. And you want to make sure you heal as fast as possible, especially with the damage dealt. Since this is truly the final boss, throw whatever you have as Necron is the only thing left standing between you and the ending.
Once you finish him, sit back and enjoy the ending!
*Note* - There's still one last sidequest I have to show after this:)

Game played extremely well on the PS5. The load times are nearly non-existent between areas, which makes the game even more enjoyable. The booster mode is nice (even though the PS4 version has it as well) and the game runs just fine. The only thing I'm disappointed with is the PS5 not recording this game in 4K. For whatever reason, it will only do 1080P 60FPS as the max setting. Still have no idea why...
Final Fantasy IX is probably in my top three games of all time. The setting is such a nice throwback compared to the previous future settings. The characters are still memorable even 20 years later, the music is absolutely stunning and so diverse with the arrangements and the story is second-to-none.
10/10.
Very few games can I still remember 20 years later, but this one still stands the test of time. Even though the ATB is slow, that problem was solved with the High Speed boost mode which is now available on the PS4 Digital Edition.
Easily Hironobu Sakaguchi's best work by a mile and it shows. Nearly perfect game.
