This is your last chance to get any missable items before heading off to Shimmering Island. Once you do, large portions of the game become inaccessible after this point. So this video will be showing you what to grab before heading off.

Below is a list of weapons to obtain before heading off. If you leave without any of these in your inventory, you will no longer be able to learn those abilities for your characters later on.

Here is the list:

Mythril Sword - Armor Break (Steiner) - Mimoza’s Mogshop (in Oeilvert)
Rune Blade - Iai Strike (Steiner) - Daguerreo
Trident - Luna (Freya) - Mimoza’s Mogshop
Heavy Lance - Six Dragons (Freya) - Esto Gaza
Obelisk - Cherry Blossom (Freya) Daguerreo
Diamond Sword - Power Break (Steiner) - Esto Gaza
Flame Saber - Magic Break (Steiner) - Esto Gaza
Black Hood - Death (Vivi) - Esto Gaza
Hamelin - Jewel (Eiko) - Daguerreo or Esto Gaza
Octagon Rod - Firaga, Thundaga, Blizzaga (Vivi) - Daguerreo

Frog Catching: Now is an excellent time to catch more frogs with Quina. There is a lot coming up in Shimmering Island, so make sure to complete this before heading off. You should be past 50 by now if you've been doing it every couple of hours.

Chocobo Hot & Cold: By now, you should've finished the entire sideqest, with exception to one that I'm leaving until the final disc: Chocobo's Paradise. The reason being that the last Dive Spot isn't available until after you complete the upcoming section.

Vivi & Quina (Must be in your party): Make sure to stop by Quan's Dwelling to retrieve several cutscenes, which will nab you a pair of Running Shoes. This will allow your characters to learn Auto Haste.

Treno: There are two fights you can do here. The second fight (assuming you didn't do the first), will net you another pair of Running Shoes, which is extremely nice to have.

Conde Petie Mountain Path
Desert Palace (Namingway Card)
Esto Gaza/Mount Gulug
Fossil Roo
Ice Cavern
Iifa Tree
Observatory Mountain
Oeilvert
Pinnacle Rocks (note that the forest area is already inaccessible)

And that's it. So if there's anything you want to do in those locations, visit them now as they will no longer be accessible once you head to Shimmering Island. And that about covers it.
