Mystic Quest is a very RNG filled game with the range of possible speedrun times being quite large depending on how many monsters you get, what the composition of the enemies are, and when the bosses do their special moves. It's tough! Pretty simple to learn, and I was able to grind down to below 2:05, which is much better than I anticipated.

Floor 6 Pazuzu in this run, which... of course. I think some runners could get a Floor 5 Pazuzu and get a time like this, but not me. This run had an amazing Giant Tree, everything went right, I was 4 and a half minutes on up on my PB, then Dullahan had to go and Dullahan. Killing Kaelie halfway into the fight should NOT be allowed. I then bled out more time but hung on to make a PB. Still, this run and the many failures which preceded it have certainly put me off FFMQ speedruns.
