Final Fantasy VI | Part 17: Invading the Tower of Kefka
Product provided in this video by Square-Enix. This is part of my purpose to playthrough all six of these.
So much training, so much prep work... it's come to this. We are now ready to take on the mastermind behind it all, Kefka Palazzo. He has become a god and wants to spread destruction throughout the world.
You need to split your party into three groups. With each of your groups, you need to be on the move solving puzzles and defeating enemies. It's here we face off against the last two legendary dragons: Gold Dragon and Skull Dragon. Gold Dragon is weak to Water while Skull Dragon is weak to Holy and Fire. Once they are defeated, you'll get your hands on the Crusader magicite. This will give you access to Meteor and Meltdown. There's also Ultima Buster, an evolved version of Ultima Weapon. But he isn't that hard.
The main focus of this is that to reach Kefka, you must face off with the Warring Triad: The Fiend, Sephirot, the Goddess, Sophia and the Demon, Zurvan. These three deities would be responsible for all the magic in this world and were sealed away to prevent catastrophe. Due to Kefka's own actions it led to the World of Ruin. Now you have to fight them. Sophia is the only one of the three where you fight Surrounded. Strange I know. Zurvan is weak to Poison, Sephirot is weak to Holy and Sophia has Haste and Shell on. Buff your party then go on the offensive. You're going to need it in order to win.
With each of the three gods defeated, the party comes to a revelation. Under normal circumstances, magic would cease to exist. But they soon realize that Kefka had absorbed all of their power becoming a god. Now only one threat remains: Kefka himself.
We'll deal with him in the finale.
