Final Fantasy VI | Part 16: Cleanup at the World of Ruin
Product provided in this video by Square-Enix. This is part of my purpose to playthrough all six of these.
Yep. This is where it all comes to a head. We have all our allies back but now it's time to see things through to the end.
For starters we tackle the Cultists' Tower. If all of your party has the strongest magic, you will handle things just fine. Otherwise, bring Umaro as he can throw your party members at enemies for major damage. The White Dragon is there but having Reflect Rings guarantee your survival. At the end you will face the Magimaster. Make sure everyone has Reraise and then spam Ultima. Bear in mind it will then use Ultima on you to wipe you out. But as long as you have that, you'll be fine. You also get the Soul of Thamasa which gives Dualcast to a party member.
Later on we head for the village of Thamasa with Relm and Strago. Turns out that Hidon is on the loose and we need to head to a cave up north. That cave has a gimmick. You need to feed it coral. About 22 of it and once you do that, you will face Hidon. Have Strago in your party to make sure he learns his strongest Blue Magic ability, Grand Delta. If he gets it, boom, he'll be that useful. Make sure you have a backup save just to be bloody safe. Once you take down Hidon, that's it.
Strago's side story is over. We also return to the Opera House to take down the Earth Dragon. Make sure your heroes have Float. Do that and it's a joke. Having Gaia Gear also works too. We also try our luck with the arena with negative results. I don't recommend it.
Part 17 is where we will reach Kefka's tower at long last... and yes we will wipe the everliving hell out of it.
