44This one is quite simple compared to other FFT scores, I was particularly impressed by this one when I was first playing the game back in 1997. The loneliness, suppression and dilemma this song delivers is very contagious. (Of course this is accompanied with good story telling.) I couldn't help but felt deeply sorry to fight the "boss" of the stage when this song is first playing. In Pursuit later makes a 2nd appearance in the stage of routine battle, but the landscape of the battlefield still matches the song very well.
One interesting note of this song is the original title of "In Pursuit" in the in-game sound test mode is "Battle Report". Implying this song was not intended to serve as a battle BGM but other non-battle scene or chapter conclusion like in Tactics Ogre.
