Chapter 3: The Valiant
Locations: Roof of Riovanes Castle
Riovanes Castle (リオファネス城, Riofanesu-jou) is the stronghold of Grand Duke Barrington in Final Fantasy Tactics. Riovanes Castle is the second place in Final Fantasy Tactics to have Chain battles. Here in this castle, three different chain battles are fought. It is also necessary to build up a stock of items and armor before going into this castle. Also, keeping a backup save file on the world map is recommended. It is the site of Ramza Beoulve's battle with Wiegraf, who then transforms into Belias during a Lucavi attack on the castle in which Hashmal goes on a rampage, killing many of the castle's defenders. Barrington himself escapes the carnage, only to be thrown off the roof of his own castle by the Ultima Demon Lettie disguised as a human girl, who was in the service of the Lucavi Zalera, who had possessed Marquis Elmdor of Limberry.

The battle on the roof can prove to be the most annoying as Rafa's A.I. is stupid, rather than run like a rabbit, she typically tries to help fight the assasins or even Elmdor which puts her on the frontlines getting her killed. If you have anything to increase movement and speed for equipment, and a fast class that could one shot an assasin, then this might be easier for you. Good luck.

Basic Plot Sysnopsis:
The Kingdom of Ivalice: forever guarded by the twin headed lions and by the sun that shines upon them... A year after the defeat of the 50 year war. The King had died from a terminal illness earlier and the prince to succeed him was only 2 years old. This meant his guardian would actually reign in his stead as King. The Queen's elder brother Larg was designated as guardian, but fearing an oppressive reign from the Queen, the parliament ousted the potential prince appointing instead the King's cousin, Prince Goltana, as the guardian. Prince Goltana and Prince Larg are both respected generals who proved themselves in the 50 Year War. Prince Goltana had the support of the powerful Nobles, but disinfranchised Nobles and knights clearly supported Prince Larg. The Black Lion symbolises Prince Goltana and the White Lion symbolises Prince Larg. This is the beginning of what will later be known as "The lion War."

Final Fantasy Tactics (ファイナルファンタジータクティクス, Fainaru Fantajī Takutikusu) is a tactical role-playing game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the Sony PlayStation video game console. It was released in Japan in June 1997 and in the United States in January 1998. The game combines thematic elements of the Final Fantasy video game series with a game engine and battle system unlike those previously seen in the franchise. In contrast to other 32-bit era Final Fantasy titles, Final Fantasy Tactics uses a 3D, isometric, rotatable playing field, with bitmap sprite characters.

The game is set in a fictional kingdom called Ivalice, which has just ended its war with neighboring kingdom of Ordalia. The story follows Ramza Beoulve, a young cadet who finds himself thrust into the middle of a conflict, where two noble factions are coveting the throne of the kingdom. While the war was caused by a conflict of succession, Ramza was exposed to a plot that involved the kingdom's dominant religious organization.

A spinoff was created in 2003, called Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, and a sequel to that title was released called Final Fantasy Tactics A2, and in 2006, a stand-alone title called Final Fantasy XII was released for the Sony PlayStation 2. All three games take place in the fictional land of Ivalice. An enhanced remake of Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, was also released in 2007 as part of Square Enix's new Ivalice Alliance project. Overall, the game received positive reviews from gaming magazines and websites.
