Previously, the party visited Gohn, the Town of Ruin. They found the King of Tycoon, but then they fell into the ruins. They found a teleporter to the Catapult underneath Crescent Island. Cid and Mid caught up to them as the party discovered an airship. After they defeated the Cray Claw, they took the airship for a test flight. As they approached Gohn, the Ronka Ruins took off. The party needed Adamantite to reach the Ronka Ruins, so they returned to the Tycoon Meteorite, fought the Adamantoise, and acquired the substance. They took it to Cid and Mid to get the airship upgraded. When they took off to the Ronka Ruins, they took out the guns and the Soul Cannon on the Flying Fortress exterior. Then, they did some grinding in the Jachol Cave. Now, the party will explore the Ronka Ruins.

The party resumes outside the Library of the Ancients. Faris changes her job to Blue Mage with the ability !Control. Bartz equips the ability "Find Passages". They board the airship and take off for the Ronka Ruins.

Ronka Ruins (time 0:51):

The party arrives at the Flying Fortress exterior. They fly in through the hole left by the Soul Cannon and dock in the hangar. They take the gangplank west.

Note that the Ronka Ruins is a one-time dungeon. The party will lose access to it after they defeat the boss and acquire the crystal's jobs. There are twelve missable treasures and eight missable normal monster types here. The monster types are Ra Mage, Ronkan Knight, Stone Mask, Enchanted Fan, Lamia, Archeotoad, Hydra, and Ghidra. There are also some Blue Magic spells to learn: White Wind from Enchanted Fan, 1000 Needles from Lamia, and Level 4 Graviga from Ghidra. White Wind is especially good. Several passages are hidden, so the Thief ability "Find Passages" is helpful.

The party arrives on Level 1 of the ruins. They start in the northeast. They follow the path south, west, north, west, and downstairs.

The party arrives in the northwest of Level 2. They go to the eastern end of the floor, then south and west through a hidden passage. In the southern section of the floor, they find a chest containing Golden Armor.

The party goes downstairs to the central part of Level 3. Just to their west, they take the path south. Then, they go northwest.

The party encounters an enemy group with an Enchanted Fan. Faris takes !Control of it and then makes it cast White Wind on the party. The party learns the Blue Magic spell White Wind. This spell restores each party member's HP by an amount equal to the caster's current HP. It can be really useful if the caster has high HP.

Also, Bartz, Lenna, and Galuf reach Level 24.

They skip the first path they see and go up the second path. At the split, they go west, north, and east to a chest that contains an Elixir.

Lenna reaches Summoner Level 3 and masters "!Summon Lv. 3".

After backtracking, the party takes the westernmost path north. In the northern section of the floor, they go east. They bypass a path leading north and a stairway to the north. Just east of the stairway, they find a chest containing a Phoenix Down.

Just east of this chest, they turn south. They go down a stairway to the southeastern part of Level 4. They follow the path south.

The party goes up the next stairway to the southeastern section of Level 3. They follow the path north and open a chest in the northeast for a Golden Shield.

The party backtracks south and descends to the southeastern section of Level 4. Then, they backtrack to the northern section of Level 3.

In the north of Level 3, the party takes the stairway up to a save room on Level 2. They use Tents at the save point and then save.

After resuming, the party goes back down to Level 3. Just to the west, they take the path north and go downstairs.

The party reaches a room north of the center of Level 4.

In an encounter with a Lamia, Faris takes !Control of the Lamia and then makes it cast 1000 Needles on Faris. Since this kills Faris, the other party members must revive and heal her. At the end of the battle, the party learns the Blue Magic spell 1000 Needles. This spell deals 1,000 points of damage to an enemy. Pretty useful against some of the tougher enemies in this part of the game.

The party goes southeast and northeast and takes the next stairway up. They arrive in the northernmost room of Level 3. They follow the path northwest and go down the next stairway.

The party arrives in the northernmost room of Level 4. The party goes south and descends the next stairway.
