Final Fantasy VI playthrough Part 33
1Exploring the town of Thamasa. This is supposed the Mage Village,but everyone here denies they even know what magic,or espers are.Don't try to sleep at the inn yet unless you're desperate. As you explore town,you'll see hints of people knowing magic,only to run off after being caught. Check out on of the houses to meet the old man named Strago and his granddaughter Relm. She blurts out about magic after seeing Shadow's dog,though they still deny they know about magic. You can rest at the Inn now for 1 gil. During the night,you'll be woken up by Strago,a house is on fire and Relm is trapped inside! They try to put the fire out with magic,but to no avail. Inside,touching the fire things gets you into fights with Bombs. Strago's Aqua Rake spell takes care of them easily. You can find 2 chests with a Fire and Ice Rod in them in here. BOSS FIGHT: Flame Eater. Summons Bombs throughout the fight,clear them out with Aqua Rake. Sometimes counters attacks with Fire 2 or 3. Can also cast Reflect and Safe on itself. Have Strago be ready as crowd control while Terra heals and Locke attacks. After it dies,Shadow shows up and helps the party escape. Strago then tells this is indeed the Magi Village,and explains it's history. He's thankful for you saving Relm,and agrees to help you find the Espers.
