Not only have our heroes lost their alliance in the only Espers willing to help them, but Kefka has tricked Leo and stabbed him in the back.. taking away the only true ally they had in the Empire.
After the wake of Kefka's chaos, everyone is able to collect themselves and get back to square one. Saying their goodbyes to their fallen ally, they are met up by Setzer and the others shortly after with word of what's been going on around the other towns, and how they avoided the Empires double-cross elsewhere.
Now back on the ship, everyone begins to pipe in as to what the next moves need to be, until they are interrupted by the unexpected.... because what they don't know is that the greedy Emperor and his villainous number two have hijacked the sealed gate and have begun to raise the entire continent!!!
