Game: Final Fantasy VI
Port: Steam

The Soul Shrine is unlocked after you slay Kaiser Dragon the first time. It is west of Mobliz and it is basically a Gauntlet of monster battles, one after the other. You literally go to war here in the later parts.

Along the way you may get attacked by Dragon Den monsters and bosses, even Glutturns, who have their own dastardly tricks.

I think what made this attempt badass was a couple of things:
- Intercepted every last Ultima with Runic
- Used 3 characters that were considered by many to be the worst of them all.
- Didn't use of that overpowered spam crap. I use Tempest a few times, but at least that move needs to be charged.
- I got lucky at Holy Dragon rematch with a Pre-Emptive Strike on Blue Dragon after I got hit with Heartless Angel and didn't get my Curaga in.
- Learned from my last battle with Kaiser Dragon. Rage almost got me killed and this time I was ready to intercept Ultima after Cyan Fanged it (I used single attacks cause of this).

FINAL THOUGHTS
===============
There was once a saying a Let's Play guy (I won't mention names, but he is a pretty famous one) said in his video comments: "Noobs do what other people do and I do what I damn well please". What made this saying hypocritical is he did a Dragon's Den run and mostly used a Terra with dual Ultima Weapons/Master Scroll/Quick spam through every boss he could fight, even against Kaiser Dragon. I laughed and called him out on that.

I also confessed I have told people up front that I got bored of their videos when I see Ultima spam go off (there are quite a few YT videos that do this as well, one of them (another famous guy) actually brought up Cyan sucks and couldn't really back up that claim even though I used him as effectively as he can be. I won't be afraid to hit that dislike button either.

But the point is: That stuff annoys and bores me. I have seen a few entertaining videos for FF6 (my favorites being a full Imp Team vs Kefka, a full no control team (Gogo, Mog, Umaro, Gau) vs Kefka and a guy beat Kaiser Dragon without learning Magic from Espers and did so at like level 40-50). Those 3 entertaining videos and dumb comments and videos that abuse spams inspired me to do this Anti-Norm style to begin with. My first testament to this is beating the Hamsters in Valkyrie Profile without using Guts or Auto-Item.

Let's face it. The fact I can do this and every boss fight in the game without resorting to the overpowered nonsense should be proof that I easily handled this, and you can too!

I am not denying that those banned moves are bad in any fashion, I just don't like seeing them in other videos or abusing the hell out of them every waking second. Hell, there are times where those spams are either incredibly dangerous or incredibly inefficient to use. However, I have learned that if you can do it 1 way, you most certainly can do it another, even if you must defy the norm. Plus, I find a large majority of those spams or overpowered techniques ruin the magic and fun of the game. When you take away these things from FF6, you still get an easy game, but it is quite entertaining and in some points its a real rush.
