Final Fantasy Video Walkthrough Part 4 - Matoya's Cave
New lands await exploration over the bridge!
Commentary:
0:42 - When you reach the Light Warrior Memorial Bridge, you get the prologue and credits, and the famous Final Fantasy Overture plays. Now the game begins for real. Excited? First, let's check this cave up north out (it's optional, but there's free stuff, and experience points, so why not?)
2:51 - Wha? Really, I figured this out without any help, and It took me a very long time to realize you could walk on the skulls. Here's a hint: Brooms talk backwards. The chests contain some useful potions for this early stage of the game.
3:06 - Are you sure you didn't leave it under one of these skulls? Oh well. We'll keep an eye out for it (heh).
3:23 - This is what the brooms are talking about. Push B+Select, and it brings up a map of the world. Each flashing spot is a spot of importance we need to eventually go. It's very useful when you don't know the world as well.
4:38 - Asps (and their cousins Arachnids) can poison you. They give 50 GP per kill. A Pure potion costs 75 GP. Do the math. Run from them.
4:56 - The monsters get tougher as you go. Ogres are a literal gold mine, they're 195 GP a pop and while they hit decently hard and have good HP for this part of the game, are not hard to beat at all, particularly when they show up solo. Always take the time to beat one up.
6:11 - Iguanas can be tough, they hit pretty hard, but don't have a lot of HP. Nearly any lone monster is easy enough to bother fighting, but 2 I'd run from.
7:55 - When everyone fails to run, you can try again if you really need to get away. I often only try and run once, then fight when that fails (here I try again because of my low HP totals). Some enemies you cannot run from.
8:29 - After a long hike, we make it to Pravoka!
