Welp, I was planning on doing a Zelda video, but I figured I should split my time between FF7 and Zelda EoW in the interest of at least getting through the first disc.

We're certainly getting there! Last time, we ventured to Rocket Town and recruited our final party member, Cid Highwind. Even Sephiroth basically just told us he was heading past Mt. Nibel, Rufus appeared to tell us we're looking in the wrong area. Sephiroth is headed for the Temple of the Ancients...

What's going to happen now? Let's find out...

CHAPTER 16 - THE KEYSTONE

So in the final moments of the last video, we see Cloud and co. with Cid on the 'Tiny Bronco'. Cid tells us that Rufus said Sephiroth is searching for the Temple of the Ancients. It's suggested we begin asking around for clues...

I don't particularly know if anyone, anwhere tells you to do this... BUT, we're now going to take the Tiny Bronco and head north. We'll round the north end of this continent and make our way to the most northern continent, the one shaped like a chocobo. Land on the southern beach and approach a location just a bit north, surrounded by forest. This is 'Bone Village'.

All we need to do here is speak with the guy right near the entrance. He will basically tell us all we need to know. Ask about Sephiroth and he'll tell you that he's headed for the 'Temple of the Ancients'.

Just keep talking to him, he'll tell you everything you need to know:

Sephiroth is looking for the Temple of the Ancients
The Temple is located 'way down south'
It looks like a pyramid that rises within the forest
To get in, you'll need a Keystone
The Keystone is a rock that's a key and some rich guy has it.

So from here, we'll need to go to a lone house in Gongaga. You can reach it with the Tiny Bronco by cutting through the river that in the middle of the continent. The rich guy is the weapons dealer here. He'll tell you that unfortunately, he just sold the Keystone to Dio, the owner of the Gold Saucer. Our fetch quest continues!

Remember that we can't simply walk up to the Gold Saucer on the world map. You'll need to take the cable car from Corel, so we'll park the Tiny Bronco as close to Corel as we can and walk. Alternatively, you could catch a Chocobo, but this could actually end up taking more time.

We arrive in Corel and take the cable car to the Gold Saucer. Head to the Battle Square and then to 'Dio's Museum'. The Keystone will be in the middle of the room. As you examine it, Dio will approach. He'll give you the Keystone if Cloud agrees to fight in the Battle Square. You'll immediately go into a fight from here.

It doesn't matter how well you do. You could even run from the first battle and still get the Keystone. If you manage to beat all eight battles, you'll get a Protect Vest and Choco Feather. Nothing special. It's also hard if you don't have anything to protect against Stop. It becomes an instant KO.

Anyway, you get the Keystone, but the cable car will be out of order when you try to leave. Cait Sith will suggest you stay in the hotel. In the next scene, Cloud will be asked to once again recap the plot of the game, lol. Afterwards, everyone calls it a night.

Back at Cloud's room, someone will appear at his door for a date. The game has a built-in dating simulator mechanic which awards or removes points based on certain decisions you've made in the game. The default outcome is Aeris, although you could also get Tifa, Yuffie and even Barret!

For the most part, you won't have to do anything. Cloud and Aeris will go to Event Square and take part of a play, then ride the gondola. It's a very nice couple of scenes. When you decide to call it a night, you'll see Cait Sith at the station holding the Keystone! You call out to him and he runs...

Chase Cait Sith throughout the Gold Saucer. Eventually, he'll go to the Chocobo Square. When you chase him outside of here, you'll see him throw the Keystone to Tseng in a Shinra helicopter. Why?!?

This is my least favorite plot twist in this game and its delivered so flatly. But Cait Sith is a Shinra spy! Shinra has Marlene kidnapped so they must do as Cait Sith says and pretend like nothing happened. Cait Sith is actually a toy robot cat being controlled remotely by someone in Shinra... Weak!

Anyway, back in the hotel room, you can grab an Elixir in the mini-bar. When you go downstairs, Cait Sith will tell you to head east from here to find the Temple of Ancients.

Welp, it's time to take a break. Join us next time for 'Ch. 17 - Temple of the Ancients'.
