I feel like I see a lot of people say they don’t really like this fight but I think it’s a good one once you learn it and if you can efficiently take out the soul flames. I learned the absolute best way to do this was to save or build some ATB for Red as the skulls come out so you can use Stardust Ray and get them all in one go. As for the other parts of the fight knowing how to parry the attacks really does help here to. I honestly spent quite a long time on this fight to learn them and to get this run but I was really happy with it in the end. I can see why people find this boss frustrating, and he definitely can be because when you get hit by his combos he stun locks you and you have to eat all of the hits so he is very punishing. From my experience I’ve never had any close run in’s with the death counter hitting 0 though I usually always did enough damage in my second stagger to get him low enough to kill him shortly after. Overall I thought this was a good fight and this whole section of the game was pretty crazy and unlike anything I’ve seen thus far
