This was actually my very first attempt at Odin and I decided to upload this fight cause I was pretty happy with how I did with it 😄I will say though tbf that I knew of his mechanics ahead of time before going into this fight, that you always need to stay on the offensive and use ATB commands and block to keep his “mood gauge” up so he doesn’t get bored and eventually Zantetzuken your whole party to death. I’m honestly pretty surprised I did manage to get through this fight without a team member dying because despite knowing of his mechanics ahead of time, it was still the very first time I’ve actually played against his moveset. All in all though this is a really fun fight and I really like his unique mechanic of needing to keep him engaged throughout the whole battle. The only real troublesome thing (besides him doing loads of damage) is getting hit by attacks that put the cuffs on your characters, making it so you can’t use ATB commands or you get counter hit. I only realized after the fight looking into it more that this happens when you get hit by attacks that have the glowing purple aura on them, like Helmcleaver. It does suck getting hit, especially because it’s basically stopping you from doing the main thing you need to do to keep him engaged but I guess that’s what other party members are for haha.

So as an ending follow up, this was the last new summon fight of the game and I have to say that they really stepped them up here from Remake. If I had to give a rating for my favorites I’d still say Bahamut Arisen is my all time favorite. I’d then put Odin second then Titan third to make my top 3. After that I’d say Phoenix, Kujata and then Alexander last. He’s just way too much of a clusterfuck with AoE spam everywhere and just doesn’t feel nearly as engaging to fight as all the others. Even though Titan is the first and simplest, I put him in the top three because honestly it’s just a straightforward fun fight and his attacks are really fun to parry. I’ve probably spent the most time with him tbh. Bahamut is #1 for me just because I really like his varied moveset and he’s also just very fun to parry. He also got me to use synergy skills, something I honestly haven’t really been taking full advantage of, with the exception of counterfire really. I plan to do solo fights on all of these summons at one point and I think Odin will definitely be the hardest so I still need some more practice with him. But yeah, this was a very nice line of of summon fights, all were challenging in their own ways and it felt great to beat them all at full might (:
