Final Fantasy X Used to Look Like THIS?! | FFX Beta Trailer
At the Square Millennium Event held in January 2000, trailers for Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy XI were shown to members of the press. Although FFIX was nearing completion and FFXI was still in the early stages of development, Final Fantasy X was in the interesting beta phase where the game was workable yet still moldable.
Noticeable differences from the beta and final product obviously include Tidus' black hair, but also the menu layouts and the PlayOnline capability feature for strategy guide purposes. Clearly, Final Fantasy X was quite a different game at this stage!
Worth noting for PS2 players -- the PlayOnline website should still be visible from the very main menu. Check it out for yourself!
