This Barthandelus is less frustrating than the previous one, in my opinion. Not having to deal with curing ally debuffs is nice. Having to deal with only two AoE abilities is nice. The fact that one of them can never kill you (Thanatosian Laughter; it deals damage as a percentage of current HP) is nice.

Ultima, while deadly, is non-lethal provided everyone has more than 2,151 HP. That number is calculated as the maximum possible damage done to Sazh and Hope if Barthandelus targets Snow while he's a (Lv. 4) SEN with Improved Ward Fringeward. Snow takes less than that if he is Mediguarding through it, but that doesn't really matter.

Because Thanatosian Laughter (for this battle only) deals more damage if your characters are in higher health, I am healing only to break 2,151 HP. That makes me invincible to Ultima. Regardless I took a few risks during each stagger in favor of maximizing damage output for each stagger. His attack pattern's fairly regular, though.

DRCNC = Dual-Role Challenge, No Catalysts.

The characters are only leveled in one primary role and one secondary role. They are allowed to use their two neglected primary roles in battle. The roles I have selected are:
