Switch to Protection and buff up the party. Alternate between Delta Attack and Relentless Assault to build up the Gestalt Meter. Heal party when required.
Alternatively, you can hit retry and add the Mystic Tower Paradigm if you want. It will push the Gestalt meter faster and its safer since Fang can tank the attacks.
Archylte Steppe is the biggest open map in the game, there are a lot of treasure chests but those with valuable items are usually guarded by enemies which you mostly are unable to kill at the moment. Don't worry about the treasures and Ceith Stone missions as of now, because you will need to return here later on anyways. It's entirely up to you, but I will advise progressing with the story first.
CP farming Power Tip: 00:30:07 (Early newbie version when you first reach Archylte Steppe)
As you reach the path leading to Mah'habara, you can see a Behemoth King and Megistoterian fighting. This will provide you with a 100% pre-emptive strike. Use Aggression as default paradigm. This will make your other commando attack the other target, hence maintaining the stagger bar through out the fight. Take down the Behemoth King first and then the Megistoterian. You need to launch the Behemoth King to prevent it from healing itself to full health. Just time your attacks and launch it as soon as its staggered.
Using Libra on Megistoterian will enable your Synergist to cast Enfire, this is very useful for dealing more damage to the Megistoterian. As you grow stronger in the near future, you will not need to buff up your party during the fight, you can easily stagger both at the same time and kill them both in a short time, which makes this one of the best spots for farming CP in the game.
To respawn them, just head back to the save point. Spend some time here farming and as the enemies in Mah'habara are quite tough.
