Playing Black Mage this time. No originality points though since Casters are the standard here, the sleep or tri disaster+multiple mage limit breaks combo is used by premades to typically stomp. I am not in a pre made though so no chance of such coordination.

This is the new Frontlines Map Borderland Ruins Slaughter introduced in Patch 2.5 and....It's not that great but it has faster matches but also much laggier with 72 players gathered up in one area, everyone having their own personal limit breaks, etc. You'll be lucky if you get 30 FPS lol..

The goal here is to reach 150 tactical points by defeating opponents and doing damage to the Allagan system type monsters, even if your GC doesn't defeat them you can still get some points. Most of the action takes place in the middle but two monsters will spawn on the points off to the side at a certain point in the match. These monsters also grant buffs like Haste, Increased Damage and Increased HP and MP.

The Limit Break system here is different. It's called Adrenaline Rush, only your actions serve to fill it up and each person has their own AR bar so use it when you can.

The Battle High and Battle Fever buffs are bonuses that boost your damage and increase AR bar's rate of filling when you go on a KO spree. Four kills in a row will net you Battle High for 20% damage boost and AR Bar fills up 1.5 times faster. Eight in a row will net you battle Fever for 40% damage boost and AR bar fills up two times faster.

The bounce pads or teleporters made travelling much easier.

That's about it..Really I think the original Borderland Ruins Secure map was waaay better. It's a shame everyone wants to play this one now since this one requires little strategy and just devolves into whom can land the most sleep+mage limit break combos.

Also man Maelstrom on the Aether Data Center REALLY has huge issues. It is so hard to win, we don't have many premades and the chat is usually used for flaming, blaming or whining about wanting to switch Grand Companies. Shameful display. Our wait times aren't as bad but if you didn't get those mounts back when we won often you may be out of luck. Also we have no Healers so I've been forced to play Healer sometimes. I am not good at healing though and it is the hardest and least fun role in Slaughter Mode IMO especially when melee DPS limit break you.

Lastly, I am happy with how things turned out in the end lol. I did better than I expected this was the first time I really got to experience the Battle High. So there is some fun to be had but...I like Secure better since it has more variety and strategy involved.
