0:30-Skip cutscene. Also note this was before it got nerfed.

This is my first clear of the Steps of Faith, the new trial in Patch 2.55. This is NOT a VG, these conditions were not ideal and it's much more recommended to try with your Free Company to easily coordinate things and insure you have a party who will communicate because that will be needed. Also it'll probably prevent ragequits that was so prominent here despite it being Day 1. This took a ton of tries if you're curious, like 4.

If you die, it's best to hit return and respawn to avoid the weakness debuff and save Healer MP.

If you seek more detailed info, this page is probably a good choice since I was doing this from a Tank Perspective and thus didn't man the cannons or the dragon killer. http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/The_Steps_of_Faith

Our strat probably wasn't the most ideal one but it worked for us. The tanks were to grab the adds and keep them in the middle under the boss so within its hitbox, the DPS were to focus primarily on the Adds and man the cannons of course. Those on cannons would handle the snares and our ninja handled the Dragon Killer I believe. Also the ninja would tell them when to snare in the chat, communication is key in random DF groups. When all Adds were dead we'd hit the boss. The Mage Limit Break might have also been a bit of a waste since when the kegs are properly set off they do some nice damage to the Adds.

Having two tanks might not be the best idea but the Paladin requested I mostly keep Defiance on and aggro whatever he isn't able to pick up and bring it to the middle under the boss's belly, on the boss's hitbox basically. That was the main role, that and helping hurt the Adds primarily. The Paladin did die in attempts prior to this. If your tank is confident though the OT can be put onto Dragon Killer duty.

Also, there's NO LOOT. So that kinda stinks. What's going to motivate people to do this again? That's the downside to it. The fight itself is rather neat and it's good to see the devs trying to come up with new mechanics and break away from the circular arenas Trials tend to have.

Motion to abandon duty rejected and thank goodness we did. It's day one people, toughen up! There will be trouble, oh there will be fails, if you give up at the first sign of adversity LOL, then of course you'll never learn or get better. Some content requires practice, trial and error before everyone gets it down. So be patient, this content itself may not be hard but getting everyone on the same page is the real challenge.

Lastly, the fail cutscene is unskippable and quite mean lol. It's also going to be interesting seeing this in Trial Roulette, best be prepared for it if ye queue up.
