Final Fantasy XIV: [FPS Fix] - How to get solid 60 FPS
[Quick Recap]:
Settings with the biggest impact from highest to smallest:
1. Use low-models on distant objects (LOD) [8~10 FPS]
2. Screen-Space Ambient Occulsion [5~10 FPS]
3. Shadow Settings in General [5~10 FPS]
3.1 Shadow Resolution [5 FPS]
3.2 Shadow Cascade [2-3 FPS]
3.3 Shadow Softening [1-2 FPS]
NB: You should also try toggling the "Show/Hide" options for other PCs other than those in your party.
4. Transparent Lighting [2-3 FPS]
5. Anti-Aliasing (Nvidia) If you are using AMD this will be 3 or 4th on the list.
Once you are sitting comfortably above 60fps you can go through and deactivate some of the above settings. However if after the changes you still aren't at 60FPS consider looking into background applications and other programs that may be bottlenecks to your performance or slowing down you system.
Also if you are having FPS dips in partys and/or FATEs try toggling the "Show Limited Battle Effects" For Other PC's not in your party. It is under the "Character" Tab in "Character Configuration" [Ctrl + K] will get you to the options window on PC.
