0Honestly, this wasn't as troublesome as the Liege of the Lake side quest at the Vesperpool, but I'm a higher fishing level than I was at the time, so this turned out to be kind of easy for me. Had to look up the lure I needed, but aside from that I just had to remain patient, and not get greedy with the reeling.
[Strategy]
As I said, the key to catching this bad boy is patience. Like with other fish, DO NOT REEL if your controller is furiously vibrating. If it's vibrating slightly, you can get away with tapping R2 off and on, but just be ready to switch directions on the fly. I've found that the fish will be more likely to turn if it's on the edge of the conal shaped field these mini games take place. Other than that, wait it out as much as you can.
