Final Fantasy XV - How To Level Up!
SEE DESCRIPTION FOR FURTHER INFO/UPDATES:
This shows you how to level up efficiently.
CAUTION: Not for people wanting a challenge! This will ruin that experience as far as the story is concerned. If you'd like lots of EXP though, this will help!
The earliest you can initially do this strategy is Chapter 3 when you have access to the "open world" so you can gather Rare Coins effectively. You don't get access to the x3 EXP hotel until Chapter 9 but you can still get good results with the x2 one at Galdin Quay. Even if you don't have Rare Coins you can make do with the "Debased" items; any EXP multiplier treasures.
RARE COIN FARMING STRATEGY:
- Find a "random treasure" orb in Cleigne (in a field, not town; the ones you're after give either Rare Coin/Shattered Timepiece/Earth Gemstone/Debased Banknote/Gold Shard). They're the blue ones.
- SAVE!
- Pick it up. If it isn't a Rare Coin, RELOAD that save and try again!
REQUIREMENTS:
- Capacity to defeat Bandersnatch (recommended LV28+ so if you're below that, start with the Cactuar somewhere below Bandersnatch's domain which gives a base EXP of 5000. Cactuar isn't viable for this technique though because it dies too quickly to tank many EXP-bonus spells.
- EXP multiplier items, preferably Rare Coins.
- 1x each element of spell to attach the EXP items to.
BONUS:
- EXP accessory (such as Moogle's Charm).
- EXP food.
- Turns out I was right about the +100% EXP food! You can either have Ignis learn/cook Lasagna al Forno or buy Maagho Lasagna at Maagho, Altissia.
- Defeat an enemy using an Armiger Sagechain (EXP+50%).
Those bottom two would have increased my EXP more.
- Chocobos are faster than travelling on foot so will allow you more time before the EXP food wears off.
NOTES:
- The 3xEXP hotel is expensive at 30,000 Gil per stay (15,000 with preorder bonuses). If this is a problem I suggest you spend your first 10,000 Gil getting 99 on the 10,000 Gil pinball machine in Altissia and selling the prize for 500,000 Gil. Then you should be good to go...
- Rare Coins are easier to find in the dark as the glow stands out more. However you're more likely to get interrupted by fights. I leave that to you to decide which works best.
- In my case being too strong for this I should have just created 3 sets of Fire spells, then I could have got them all in 1 fight. If you're weak, you may want to make them all Lightning.
- When staying at the Leville, select the rest attendant on the right! The one on the left only offers 1.5x EXP.
