Previously, the party did some more hunts, including "Feathered Giant of the Firesmoke" at the Rock of Ravatogh and "A Most Behemoth Undertaking" in the Nebulawood. By and large, that wraps up the hunts that the party will do prior to postgame. Now, they will get on with the rest of the story. First, they must visit First Secretary Camelia Claustra at her estate for "The Summit".
A lot of story awaits in this episode, as well as a pretty big plot point. If you have not played the game for yourself, be careful of spoilers.
The party resumes near the Leville in Altissia.
Prompto speaks up as they cross the bridge southeast of the Leville (time 1:07). He issues the quest "Photo Op: Palace". He wants a photo of the grand palace.
The photo spot is located near the West Port Station above the Leville (time 2:05). "Photo Op: Palace" complete! The party earns a base of 400 EXP apiece.
In the posh eastern district of Altissia, the party finds the entrance to the first secretary's estate (time 3:41). Note that once you do this, you will be locked into the next story sequence for a while. However, you will not be permanently locked out of Lucis or Altissia; you will be able to come back later with Umbra for quests and hunts.
An interactive scene takes place between Noctis and Camelia in Camelia's office (time 3:54). It behooves Noctis to choose the most honest, respectful, and diplomatic answers to get Camelia's cooperation. He should also agree to her requests/demands. The answers that he provides determine the prize that he gets in the end.
If Noctis answers all the questions properly, he will earn four Oracle Ascension Coins (time 9:06). He is now up to Oracle Ascension Coin #034. "The Summit" complete! The party earns a base of 1,000 EXP apiece.
Another scene takes place after the negotiation (time 9:25).
Then, the party takes a gondola ride (time 10:20). They discuss what lies ahead.
Another scene occurs at Camelia's estate (time 11:36).
Afterwards, we join Noctis at the Palazzo Altemeria (time 13:07).
A scene takes place as he steps forward into the crowd (time 14:01). Lunafreya delivers quite a speech.
Another scene takes place afterwards (time 16:46). Time to engage the Empire once again!
We cut to Lunafreya at the Altar of the Tidemother (time 17:56). Leviathan seems unhappy about being disturbed.
We finally regain control of Noctis (time 19:13). He starts the story quest "Into the Fray". He must fight past some Imperial soldiers to reach a vantage point to the northeast.
Another scene takes place as Noctis comes in view of Leviathan (time 20:18).
We regain control of Noctis again (time 22:01).
At the rendezvous point upstairs, he must leap (time 22:29). This starts a quick-time event where Noctis must block and parry Leviathan's water-serpents.
At the end, Noctis must warp-strike to Leviathan's face (time 23:24). "Into the Fray" complete! Noctis and Prompto earn a base of 1,500 EXP apiece. Noctis requests her power.
When Noctis lands, the story quest "The Trial of Leviathan" begins (time 24:03). Noctis must defeat Leviathan. The battleground is the large pool behind the Palazzo Altemeria.
A scene takes place when Noctis warp-strikes Leviathan (time 25:13). A major scene takes place with Lunafreya and Ardyn. What a fiend! However, Noctis is infused with a royal power.
The battle against Leviathan resumes (time 28:04). Noctis is capable of floating during this battle. At first, Noctis must attack in a few quick-time events. Then, he can attack by targeting her and holding down the attack button. Some brief quick-time events will take place during the battle. Admittedly, not very challenging. At the end, Noctis must block and parry her, then charge up an attack by repeatedly pressing the attack button.
Another scene takes place after the battle (time 31:50). There is a dream-like sequence with Noctis and Lunafreya. Very sad.
After the scene, we find Noctis in a bedroom (time 36:13). Ignis confirms what has happened.
Another scene takes place near the docks (time 37:50). The player earns the trophy "Callings" for completing Chapter 9 of the story. Looks like it's time for the party to set out again. "The Trial of Leviathan" complete! Noctis earns a base of 3,000 EXP and the Mark of the Hydraean. He can now summon Leviathan at random in battle. Still, what a sad way to end a chapter.
