Part 6. There honestly hasn't been a mainline, non-MMO, game in the series I have disliked. This one is no exception. Final Fantasy XVI is amazing. The world is awesome and the story, albeit a little formulaic, is solid. The game is gorgeous and runs great on the PS5. The combat is fluid and very satisfying. I probably played like a fool, but it was really fun finding moves to attempt to string together. The boss battles were epic, and there were some truly amazing set pieces. There were a ton of side quests and none of them felt like bloat. They all added something to the world and built the characters. They even had some juicy rewards. The music was also on point and set the mood quite nicely. I do wish you actually had a party. It's kinda lonely wandering around the world by yourself. I know we had Torgal, and the dog is cool, but he's not people. The world also didn't have a whole lot to discover either. There really wasn't ever a reason to off the beaten path. There were no extra dungeons with booty. It was all just the overworld. There were optional bosses with the hunts. And that's cool. But I would have loved some extra caves or abandoned villages or castles to get some cool loot. The crafting system was totally an after thought. There were really long stretches where you really didn't have any upgrades. It was a little lame. All that aside. I really did have a great time Enjoy my blind playthrough.
